I have been scratching my head on how to do this for a few days now.
Lets say the user enters a date in a form and submits it.. the date is
10/2/10 for example. The database is setup to have a 'checkin' and
'checkout' date fields already assigned. In those fields for example
we have records like ('10/1/10', '10/10/10') and ('9/30/10',
'10/5/10'). My question is how would I write a query to return the
count of how many times my users input date is between the 'checkin'
date and 'checkout' date in the database?

I know cake has a between condition for queries, but I am not sure how
to apply it to this problem.

thanks
