thanks for ur reply...i got this issue solved by using and additional parameter '$extra' array in the custom paginate function!!.. but still it didnt worked fine.so i tried with non modified paginate and additional model binding in the controller . Also i had to do assign the ' find' result of newly binded model to the result of paginate function. Thanks Anju
