OLD COUNTRY BUFFET HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE

CAKE:

1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa
1/2 c. milk
2 tbsp. melted shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 3/4 c. hot water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, 
sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt, milk, shortening and vanilla. Blend 
until smooth.
Pour cake mixture into ungreased 9" square pan.

TOPPING: In small mixing bowl, mix together brown sugar, cocoa and hot 
water, making sure that the brown sugar is dissolved. Pour over batter. 
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until cake is set. Best when 
served warm.

Top with Cool Whip, whipping cream or ice cream if desired. If doubled, 
put in 9 x 13" pan.
