Initially, we experienced the same problem. We had to set meetings with the building department and explain the differences on how the cell tower ordinances don’t apply toward the towers we were interested in erecting. We eventually streamlined the process once a we were able to distinguish ourselves from cell carriers through the eyes of county personnel. If you have specific questions, feel free to reach out to us. Shasta County is expecting us to follow cell tower rules and ordinances, the process of which is more costly than putting up the tower itself.
