We had to work with the county planning commission to get the rules changed. It
took assistance from the county supervisors.

Welcome to California!

Initially, we experienced the same problem. We had to set meetings with the
building department and explain the differences on how the cell tower
ordinances don’t apply toward the towers we were interested in erecting. We
eventually streamlined the process once a we were able to distinguish ourselves
from cell carriers through the eyes of county personnel.

Subject: [California] County Tower Regulations

Have any WISPA members had any luck getting building permits to erect towers
for your services?

Shasta County is expecting us to follow cell tower rules and ordinances, the
process of which is more costly than putting up the tower itself.

Any feedback would be appreciated
