hesitate to over design the 'spec' since it will evolve naturally anyhow. one
thing we DO NOT want is a global installer. the scripts should live with the
project locally. this will prevent version hell in the future. would prefer no
req for adding to their path. makes upgrading easier. you got the right idea w/
new issues for log, etc.
