It is not uncommon for folks arriving at the door of a dance to say "I'm
just going to watch and not dance, do I have to pay admission?" If they had
checked out the prices for folk concert tickets lately, they would realize
that the price of a dance admission is a deal and that if they are just
watching they should pay more. In your case, I would suggest you check the
prices for professional seminars. Not uncommonly several hundred dollars.
The standard price for a dance is a deal. 

In other words, yes, you must pay admission.
