I have both versions, but a note that the Chain and then lines is the 
original.  The reasoning behind reversing them is that the long lines 
gives you a chance to reorient before trying to do the chain on the 
diagonal -- it makes it easier for newer dancers to orient to which way 
is the left diagonal, which can be tricky for some folks to do directly 
from a swing.  It does help, but I think that the original version flows 
better.
