Another thing to consider is progressing on to the next. Chinese Fan is fuzzy about where moves end, as the star turns. So you need to have dancers promenade "to progressed places", rather than just circling halfway or some such. I've found dancers have great trouble with this, at least partly because 4-face-4 is an uncommon formation, so they can't just progress by autopilot.
