Up through plus level, "boys and girls" and "ladies and gents" are used.
This terminology is standardized worldwide.

At advanced level, "beau and belle" are introduced.  They are positional
(beau = left, belle = right), but also refer to the common position for
that gender in typical square dance choreography.
