There is nothing like VAD implemented for IAX. The audio seems to start out OK, because the longer HylaFAX log you put in the ticket report shows the reception of the first message from Callweaver, saying the FAX manufacturer is www.soft-switch.org. Can you try this will wireshark tracing the packets, and e-mail the trace file to me?
