Hi,
I don't know if i understand your question but dns configuration is generally
in the /etc/resolv.conf file ( for redhat like OS) so you can comment all the
lines (nameserver XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) but in that way, you can't call people where
the ip address is like that : ipbx.society.net :-;-)
