BEIJING, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- China reiterated Tuesday its sovereignty over
Huangyan Island and the Nansha Islands in the South China Sea.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu, in response to Philippine
territorial claims over the islands, said: "China possesses indisputable
sovereignty over Huangyan Island, the Nansha Islands and adjacent waters."
The Philippine legislature reportedly approved legislation stating that
those islands were within the country's jurisdiction.
Jiang said that under the joint efforts of the parties concerned, the
situation in the South China Sea was stable overall.
China hoped the countries involved would in practice abide by the
Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea, and not take
actions that might complicate or expand disputes, she said.
The spokeswoman called for concerted efforts of the parties concerned to
safeguard the peace and stability of the South China Sea.
FACTS ARE :

En-lai, swore in the name of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam that the latter
would always respect the land frontiers as well as all islands belonging to the

While Chou Enlai pushed Sihanouk to adopt an Anti American stand , Mao and Chou
had betrayed him in this way ? Did Sihanouk realize it.
UN Passes Strong Resolution on Cambodia Human Rights Abuses
Feb. 27, 1982 : UN Commission on Human Rights meeting in Geneva adopted a
resolution condemning Vietnam’s occupation of Cambodia as a violation of
Cambodian human rights. The vote was 28 in favor, 8 against, and 5 abstentions.
Oct. 21, 1986 The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution A/RES/41/6, by vote
of 116-21 with 13 abstentions, calling for a withdrawal of Vietnamese forces
from Cambodia.
