As I rememer SEAL, also was known as " Homme de grenouille " was developped
early 1974, maybe some officiers were sent to the US early? I'm not sure, but
there was group of officers, sous-officers and others were studying English at
that time, for 3 mos, to prepare for coming to the US, but I heard there was
delayed as well. In the meanwhile they were also received training/exercise as
well, sometime I saw them returned from jogging around 2:30am or 3:00am. I
think Def port was different from SEAL. I believed there were KNV SEAL team
here and there at the time because it was pretty new plan and they had not
gather everyone at one place yet, one of my friend, cmdr Fusillier at Koh
Chompa was also a SEAL member but he still positioned there at the time.

Hi Perom and KC,
Was Defense Port different from SEAL? We had IOCS group who came a few months
before me and none of them knew about SEAL training. I believe everyone must
spend
3 month at Lackland AFB to learn english first before their training? MC is not
SEAL
neither, right?

Dear bang and Ta Prom,
Yeah! it's just like yesterday, everytime we talk about that it just makes me
have a mixed feeling, it makes me smiled, angry, sad BUT I never regret at all
for what I had done in my youth. and everytime we talk about our
fallen friends, I feel young again, think of the time we fought each other for
sometime even a stupid reason, we kicked each other, we aimed gun at each other
but never dare to pull the trigger, but when we knew any of them got KIA
or Bravo, we always shared their pains...
Reg SEAL if you know bang Heng 16th promo(?) or if he still lives, h should
be able to tell you more because he was the English-Khmer interpreter, former
student at Khmero-Anglais, maybe student of Mme CEM Vong Sarendy.

Bawng HCK,
Late Ma Yonn was my Promo. I'm sure, not him who came to US for the seal
training.
Yem Borphann (France) and late Pak Pailin were with Ma Yonn Group, but did not
come here for the Seal Training.
Maybe, Bawng Khuon Vandy knows who came to US for the Seal Training. Bawng
Vandy was with Ma Yonn, Borphann, Pailin Group @ Kang Keng Air Port on April
17, 1975.
KC,
Kep Sour's sister lives in France. On the morning on April 17, 1975, Sour was @
Etat Major Marine Wat Phnom with Bawng Chhut Chhareth. I met Bawng Simanh
sometimes @ Dr. Chea Phan's Office.
It seemed like yesterday.....
Thanks for the memories...

Hi KC,
Bang Simanh was my O2 for sometime before he was sent to the river. He
taught me
celestial navigation. BTW, do you know anyone who came to the US for SEAL
training?
I remember a guy from Oregon or Washingston state who claimed he was sent here
for the SEAL training.
Was it Ma Yonn?

Dear Ta Prom,
Dick ( Richard Marcinko ) was a US NAVY SEAL attachee, he was a friendy guy, he
associated with evryone the same no matter you are an officier or an AM, I
think Kep Suor your friend might remember him, he speaks French well, Ma Yonn
must know him well since he wa in the KNV SEAL team, Dick was one of
the Advisor. He talked about eating " Ondeurk " ( Baked Turtle ) and
drinking Cognac ( Yes, and Johnny Walker, smoke Sigar as well ). Everytime,
when PP got hit by 122mm or 75mm, I could hear the squeezing tires of his Jeep
no longer than 10-15 minutes after the rockets expoded. He indeed, has a very
good relationship with Chef 3B, Simanh, they talked trash to each other, and
you know, Chef bureau was shy to say the work F--- you completely, he just said
Phoc you instead.
