We are faced with the untold adversities of our future. But, as Franklin D. Roosevelt once said “there is nothing to fear, but fear itself.” We have been facing adversities since our childhood, and I guaranteed that we will continue to face it. But, life just hits you once you finish grade 12. One is soon faced with questions of how the future would look. I, myself, was faced with questions of my future career, which university I should attend, how much savings I had. The so called “fear” only restricts us as individuals from pursuing something great in life. Never be afraid to pursue your dreams. But, in order to pursue your dreams it starts with you. At the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, parents, schools and community– and it won’t make a difference – unless we fulfill our responsibilities of putting in the hard work it takes to succeed ourselves. Whatever you choose to do in life, I guarantee that you’ll need an education to do it. Education is essentially the key to success. But, it ultimately depends on you taking full advantage of it. Even though out future may seem uncertain, the scholarship provided by the Khmer Youth Association helps lessen the uncertainty and guides us towards a direction of academic life. But, even with the financial support it depends on you seizing the advantage and opportunity. There is no excuse to not try. With this scholarship, the Khmer Youth Association is assisting in funding the future of those a part of this community – the youths. Therefore, I would like to thank the Khmer Youth Association on behalf of the recipients of the scholarship for believing in the youths, which make up this community and investing in our future. Thank you!
