Hadrian,

you are right. It completely lacks support for attachment (same as the whole
camel message structure if I am not wrong). To fix this the messages in
camel have to provide attachment support (maybe extending the message
interface would be a solution).
I don't know if I can provide such a patch, but I will give it a try.
