Hi What version of Camel are you using? There have been some changes on the 1.5-SNAPSHOT that is related to this.
This is how it is supposed to work: -1 = no limit, for ever redelivery + the initial attempt 0 = no redelivery, only the initial attempt 1 = 1 redelivery + the initial attempt 2 = 2 redelivery + the initial attempt ...
