I made up this wide-angle camera from two different parts cameras: A Toyo/Omega 45E and a Cambo Passportrait. I put it up for sale and got some interesting emails but no takers.
Did I do something wrong? Is there something I missed? Please understand, I'm not trying to sell this to you! Because it didn't sell on the first attempt, I might try again, but I might just keep it and use it because I really like it. (And please rest assured, I won't insult the list by posting any "for sale" announcements!) But I really do want to understand what deficiencies it may have that I'm not aware of. I feel like I'm missing something. If I'm going to build something for other(s) to use, I'd like to know what they want! With a flat lensboard you get a lensboard-to-ground glass range of 65mm-100mm, give or take a few tenths of a millimeter. With a standard Toyo recessed lensboard, you can get from 38mm-61mm. Front standard has rise/fall, swings, tilts and shifts. Rear standard has rise/fall and tilts. Of course, it's cobbled together from two different cameras, but forget about that and assume that I intended for it to come out as it did. What's your opinion? What would you have done differently? One thing I already intend to do is to make another bag bellows for it, although the one on it serves well. But I'd like more "bag" in the thing, which would make it easier to manipulate the thing when using movements, to pull it out of the way of the lens path. I made the present one narrow like it is to avoid getting it bunched up between the standard supports, but that looks like a moot point to me now. The more I find out from you all, the better job I can do in the future. Thanks in advance for any advice. _______________________________________________ Cameramakers mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://rosebud.opusis.com/mailman/listinfo/cameramakers
