Thanks for the reply.
LED manufacture required 47ohm resistor and 4.5 volts to power the Bright
White variety. I am shooting with a CANON 10D so whit balance should not be
an issue but they are not very diffused. There does appear to be a hot spot
in the middle of each projected beam. Hopefully 15 will overlap enough to
overcome this problem.



Frank,  Most WHITE LEDs (As opposed to those that are bright blue) have a
very
distinct blue cast when used with daylight colour transparency film.
However,
it will work well with digital cameras provided you set the white balance to
automatic.  Furthermore, some do not have even light distribution.  Make
sure
that 3 batteries will not over-run the LEDs . = Normally two would suffice
if
the LEDs are connected in parallel but I am not sure if two AA batteries
have
enough current available to drive 15 LED,s connected in parallel
