checkbox is usually mapped to boolean. This follows Struts' example code.

it was my error. i got two input elements with the same name. one was checkbox and other was text.
 
btw. why is checkbox in formbean defined as boolean ?

Conflicting property type. Defined as type 'String' in the form in JSP '/Dialogs/frekventant.jsp', but 'boolean' in the form in JSP '/Dialogs/frekventant.jsp'.
it got it when i try to generate formbean class. formbean is used with form in that page. in page are some text, select and two checbox fields.
