Some times when I'm dealing with a site like MapQuest, which displays a map and then some control around it for going n/s/e/w and zooming, I'd like for the browser to keep a 'constant scroll' for the page. The way it is now, I go to the page, scroll down so I can see the rest of the map, then zoom in or move, and up pops a new page (that is not scrolled). So I then have to start again.

This is definitely doable, the only problem is figuring out when the user wants it and when they don't. I'd suggest having a "scroll lock" toggle button somewhere, but an automatic solution (that worked 99.99%) would be better.

Another nice feature would be a way to save the scroll in saved files. This would aid if you are reading long articles offline, and not all at once - an "inter-page" bookmark I guess - could be implemented now with having a way to add anchor tags directly into the source (without resorting to a text editor), and then having a "Inter-page marks" toolbar menu (if you've set any)
