When my son was about two, a friend asked if we'd send him to private or public school. My husband answered, "we're going to homeschool". Being from a Christian family and being raised in small towns in NH and ME, that response came so easy. Being raised outside of Boston in the cities, I looked at him and said, "homeschooling? what's that?" He told me (and our friend) that's when you teach them with books at home. My response was, "are you sure that's legal?" I obviously knew nothing, but had a lot to learn...
