TODAY'S TIP

Category: Internet Explorer

Security Certificates Suddenly Invalid

"I have a glitch in Internet Explorer 6 that seems to have
come out of nowhere. Each time I access a secure Web site, I
get a pop-up pane telling me that there is a problem with the
certificate. The certificate is from a trusted authority. It
has a valid name matching the page I'm viewing, but it is
expired or invalid. This just started happening, but it's
happening on all my secure sites. What can I do to get back
to normal?"

Magazine to correct that oversight. Here's the complete compendium
of solutions to the things that bug you, threaten your security,
slow you down, or other-wise prevent Windows XP from running like
it should.
