Alex: Very interesting concept. Let's see if I understand your idea for my application of thin gage sheet metal slitting.
1. Load the pressre cylinder. 2. Apply hydraulic pressure to cylinder 3. Cylinder begins to pressurize the water (not sure what this would look like) 4. Duration of of stroke is equal to cutting time (would like around a minute) 5. Move part to be slit underneath the waterjet 6. Once stroke is complete and part slit, retract cylinder to load position. 8. Dwell time of cylinder retracting and part fixturing. 7. Repeat complete process. Any comments? Bruce > <>In this respect why not to make a pressure cylinder, instead of a high > pressure pump, which could supply necessary pressure of the water jet? > Present hydraulic cylinders can operate up to 10,000 psi > <> Then the piston can be driven by several hydraulic cylinders, > providing an operation > pressure. An orifice can be located at the other end of the cylinder Addresses: FAQ: http://www.ktmarketing.com/faq.html FILES: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO/files/ Post Messages: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] List owner: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] Moderator: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [Moderators] URL to this group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CAD_CAM_EDM_DRO OFF Topic POSTS: General Machining If you wish to post on unlimited OT subjects goto: aol://5863:126/rec.crafts.metalworking or go thru Google.com to reach it if you have trouble. http://www.metalworking.com/news_servers.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jobshophomeshop I consider this to be a sister site to the CCED group, as many of the same members are there, for OT subjects, that are not allowed on the CCED list.
