President Bush edged closer to victory today against Sen. John Kerry in a roiling 
contest that came down to a heart-stopper in the heartland, a battle over Ohio. 
Disheartened Kerry aides met to evaluate his options, with concession the talk of the

Hot-button Proposition 200 initiative passes 
Arizona voters Tuesday approved Proposition 200, the controversial measure that will 
require Arizonans to show proof of citizenship when registering to vote and evidence 
of legal status when seeking some public services.

McCain routs Starky for Senate; all Arizona incumbent representatives win 
Republican John McCain won a fourth term in the U.S. Senate in a landslide yesterday, 
meanwhile Congressmen Raúl Grijalva and Jim Kolbe scored walkover victories in their 
re-election bids, joining six other Arizona incumbents who will be returning to the 
U.S. House of Representatives for new two-year terms.

TUSD bonds OK'd; overrides rejected 
TUSD voters approved the district's request for $235 million in bonds but rejected 
budget and capital outlay overrides. The decisions mean the district can renovate 
athletic and fine-arts facilities but likely won't be able to reduce class size 
districtwide as supporters had hoped.
