Not sure I got my original message across all that clearly - I'm not planning on going anywhere, but I do wonder what the point of the chap calling himself "Big Pimpin" was in announcing yet another general-purpose group when there are too many already. There probably isn't anything wrong with specialised groups, but creating more general ones helps no-one, and is more likely to make it harder to reach the "experts" that one needs at any given time. I know for a fact that there are very good people on all the "general" lists that I mentioned before, but they are not members of all of them, so I have to pick which list to use depending on who I know is in the audience, if you get my drift. It would be nice to have a "one stop shop" numismatic mailing list, but realistically there isn't one. The COINS list at uni.edu got pretty close when I first got on the web about ten years ago, and it still has a lot of good people who haven't got the Yahoogroups bug yet, even though the volume of traffic there has decreased dramatically in the past few years.
