InTouch Early Light Devotional Sunday November 7, 2004 Where to Go When in Need Hebrews 4:13-16 Whenever situations in our lives become so burdensome that we cant go on alone, where do we go? The world waves many temptations in our faces, hoping we would select them over the only place we need to go: the throne of God. A.W. Tozer writes, "We cannot think rightly of God until we begin to think of Him as always being there, and there first." God desires to bear our burdens and give us the help that we need. He is there and should be our first option in times of trials and tribulations. But why God? Why should we go to Him first and only? Whenever we are struggling, we want someone who can relate to our circumstances. We want someone who knows us. We want someone who can give us assurance. When Jesus came to earth as a man, He went through all the same trials and tribulations in life we go through. We also discover that God knows us better than anyone else. (v. 13) Our lives are "laid bare" before Him. So, if God suits the profile of the person we desire to relate to us, why turn to anyone else? He desires for us to draw near to Him "so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need" (v. 16). God has given us access to His throne of grace so we would go to Him. Why would we go anywhere else? Where else can we go to have our every need met? * * * Prayer Team Join the In Touch Ministries Impact Prayer Team and receive your free Personal Battle Planner devotional and prayer journal. http://www.intouch.org/prayerteam/index_38205069.html Free Online Study Take this free four-lesson study modeled after Dr. Stanleys latest series, America at the Crossroads. http://www.intouch.org/myintouch/exploring/studies/AATC_39235013.html >>> Share the good news <<< Please forward this message to a friend!
