I'm sorry for all the losses you've
encountered this weekend. It is very sad.
We received some bad news this
weekend too. Yesterday morning, while I was brushing my teeth, my cell
rang. DH answered it & gave it to me. Around a mouthful of
toothpaste, I mumbled "Hello?". It was my 75-year-old Aunt Kas (my
deceased stepdad's sister in California). Their cousin May (who I was
*very* close to as a child, and then became close with again after Alicia was
born) had been found dead in her bathroom last Saturday (a week ago) by a
parent of one of her music students (she taught violin & viola ~ it was
May who helped nourish my own love for the viola). It sounds like she'd
been there a *minimum* of two days, but they don't know how long. It
sounds like a massive heart attack. May was only in her 50s. I am
devastated. She gave Alicia a viola last Christmas, and now I have a
renewed effort to somehow get her music lessons after the first of the
year.
My love & hugs go out to all of
you,
Peggy
This has been one of the saddest weekends in my life. First, my
friend's mom died on Fri. a.m. Then, today I found out that the
husband of another dear friend has inoperable lung cancer and the prognosis
is not good. He starts chemo this week, but at the most, it will give him a
few more months. The worst of all though is that one of my best friend's
nieces committed suicide a few days ago and she was only 18. She had
battled depression on and off and I guess that's what did it. They
don't think there were any drugs involved. When my children found out
this morning at church, Kathy was like "Why would she do that, mom?" Such a
waste...
