NETFLASH: BREAKING NEWS FROM NETWORK WORLD FUSION

By Jeff Caruso

Cisco is warning that its routers and switches could be attacked
and made to stop functioning. All someone would have to do is
send special DHCP packets to the device. Even if DHCP isn't
configured on the device, it could still be vulnerable. Find out
if your Cisco gear is on the list of affected routers and
switches, and get the patch today.

Network World Fusion Radio: Search engines

Network World's Jason Meserve writes in with this on our latest

market? Bill Tancer, vice president of research at Hitwise, an
online competitive intelligence service that tracks the habits
of Web surfers, joins us to discuss the overall search market
and where it is heading. Listen now:

standard to avoid confusion and crippling costs for small ISPs,
participants in a U.S. government summit said Wednesday.

Panel: Gov't backing of supercomputers can aid business
