Here's what's new on StarNet, the online service of the Arizona Daily Star:

Murder victim, suspect like 'night and day'
There were no screaming matches, no arguments, no fisticuffs, no threats
between Drs. Bradley Schwartz and Brian Stidham during the 10 tense and
troubled months they worked together in Tucson, those who knew them say. Read
Part 2 of the special, "2 Doctors: A Tragedy." Also, Part 1: Aliance gone bad.

Scant minority teachers, plenty of minority kids
Though minority students make up the majority of the school population in many
Tucson schools, those students will likely get a white teacher in nearly eight
out of every 10 classes. More should be done to increase the racial diversity
of teachers because it enhances students' education, local educators and
students say, mirroring results of a recent study.

Wildcats set school record on defense in rout of Rice
Not only was the UA strong enough to play its best game yesterday, it was
dominant enough to take away Rice's. Using a 2-3 zone defense that forced Rice
to play beyond its comfort zone, the UA strong-armed its way into the preseason
WNIT semifinals with a 68-43 victory over the Owls in front of 1,890 at McKale
Center.

Fallujah: a study in war planning
NEAR FALLUJAH, Iraq - In April, 2,000 Marines fought for three weeks and failed
to take Fallujah from its insurgent defenders. This time, war planners sent six
times the troops, who fought their way across the rebel city in just six days -
far more quickly than expected, the Marine general who designed the ground
attack said yesterday.

Story and documentary: Seven days with Cienega football
A week ago, all Cienega football coach Nemer Hassey wanted was for it to be 10
p.m. on Friday. At least then he'd know if the coaches made the right calls,
the players executed the plays and whether the Bobcats had won their first
playoff game in their three-year history. Instead, four days filled with
meetings and film sessions, plus a trio of two-a-day practices, loomed. StarNet
video: Go inside Cienega's locker room in the Bobcats' 4A first-round playoff
game against Ironwood Ridge.
