Al Qaeda, in the Netherlands
—David Aikman

Winston Churchill during World War II liked to refer to the Dutch as "trustful." They had been brutally occupied by the Nazis after believing their peaceful international posture would spare them that fate.

Now the Dutch have been brutally assailed by an even more vicious adversary than the Nazis: al Qaeda. Dutch filmmaker, Theo van Gogh, the great-great grandson of the famous painter, was viciously stabbed to death by Islamic assailants. A note pinned to his body with a dagger threatened more attacks.

Van Gogh produced a documentary called "Submission" in which he showed how extreme Islamic rules were terrorizing the lives of many Muslim women. The suspects who were arrested had proven ties to al Qaeda. The trustful Dutch have been betrayed again, this time by assassins to who regard tolerance as a vice.
