I'm not a big fan of polls which involve clicking buttons on the net. I think the interactive nature of the web allows "polls" to take the form of a conversation. See AfD on Wikipedia for an example. Its about building consensus, being free to change your vote halfway through, giving reasons for your vote etc. I think polls of this nature should be more common in CW.
In fact, finding a way to make real-life polls more like wiki polls would make electronic voting very interesting. Imagine an electronic referendum where people can change their minds (before a cut-off date), are expected to give reasons for their votes, can say they will vote yes if certain conditions are met, can suggest changes to the proposal etc.
