This commitment to the well-being of the waterways and their users seems to 
be widespread among BW employees (on the ground, at least, and certainly 
among some office staff as well). The stoppage on the GU at Cowley just 
before Canalway Cavalcade was similarly dealt with, so that boaters were 
able to reach Little Venice by the Saturday afternoon. I think BW staff 
deserve our appreciation, whatever we think of the Board and the senior 
management.
