Hello folks,

The Saul Canal Festival dates for 2007 are June 29th, 30th and 1st
July. I am willing to co-ordinate a block booking for 2007, just as I
did for 2005 and 2006. It must be said that 2006 was a very teensy,
weensy block !

For SCF information see http://www.junctionevents.org.uk

There is already a commitment to a small additional Cutweb (NOT CIBC)
gathering on the G&S to blend with the SCF timing, comprising a few
boaters and campers. This will be just prior to, or just after, the
above dates. Depending on the level of interest this could expand a
little bit, or perhaps a lot. In the case of the latter then Patch
bridge near Slimbridge would be an ideal venue.

It has a pub - The Tudor Arms

and a campsite - Tudor Caravan Park
http://www.tudorcaravanpark.com

I am not heavily punting this as a candidate for "the" Gig or any other
gathering although there is clearly scope for expansion.

Furthermore there is talk in the Glosterzone about Lydney 2 - a week
after Saul. Although Uncle Mort is unavailable for that trip, it is a
very exhilarating and enjoyable excursion, provided one is equipped
with the correct colour and grade of trouser material.

So do let me know if you might head in a south westerly direction next
summer.

Also for the record, my mate Staffy reckons he has spotted, during his
patrols, quite a handy corner of the Stourport Basins worthy of Gig or
rally operations at some time in the future.
