Clive Field will be talking about "Taking a Narrow Boat to Norway." Clive Field is a well-known local canal enthusiast and director of the Saul Canal Festival. A millennium after the Vikings landed on England's shores, Clive set sail from Saul Junction in his narrow boat "Witcombe" to pay a return visit. How did he get there? Why did he go? Were his attacks on the smorgasbord sufficient revenge for the rape and pillage? Answers to some of these questions and more may be available at the meeting. Both members and non-members are welcome.
