Hi!
I have a corner (diesel fired) "Bubble" stove.
The flue on this is 4" dia.
I have a "Lockgate" flue system and bought the anti-down-draught cowl
made by them.
I have fitted a 150mm Marley (Plastic) soilpipe over the single skin
SS flue above roof level as a temparary measure (home made double
skin,) to stop the flue gasses from cooling and forming a "cold plug".
Since taking these measures, I don't even get a flicker from my blue
flame, even in today's blustery weather.
When moored, I have 1.2meters of flue above the roof and about
1.5meters (inside) from the top of the fire to roof, making nearly
1.8m total flue length. The fire will work on 300mm and cowl when
cruising.
I just hope that my approach to flue problems and details will be of
help.
