: Amazing what happens on this list. Thank you.
:
: We need all the help we can get.
:
: We are getting nb Rebecca Saturday afternoon. Not having a Nicholson's
at hand I thought that the trip from Warwick to Coventry would be easier
than going the other way. Ten years ago we boarded nb "Olivia Ginger" at
bridge 49 and I remember the flight that we worked, while jet lagged, as
we headed toward Birmingham, and thought I wouldn't want to do it again.
We were on the second half of a 2 week holiday and had to work long days
with out much sighseeing to get back to Stone on time. Don't want to be
under that much pressure this time.
:
: Should we reconsider and head for Stratford instead? Suggestions
welcomed.
:
: We have only a week, and do not have delusions of grandure - meaning
that our goal is a pleasant trip - not a marathon destination to
destination for long hours each day. We will be able to moor the boat at
do some sightseeing from her. As the song says "They're coming back to the
water" and I want to enjoy the water and the scenery.

I would suggest that you go South as you suggested, but then take time to
visit Braunston, turning in the Marina entrance then back track to The
North Oxford and go TOWARDS Coventry but plan to stop and turn quite a bit
earlier. I understand that the Bistro an Hillmorton Locks do a good meal
but I've never been there, I have been to the Royal Oak and I wont be
doing so again. I expect you may get a bit past Rugby, maybe Stretton Stop
where you can turn and then make your way back. When you get to Wigrams
Turn if you have time you can carry straight on the South Oxford to the
Bridge Inn, there is a winding hole opposite of even further to the Folly
Pub. But don't go past the winding hole or you will end up going up the
flight to turn and then come down again. After that its back to Wigrams
Turn and off down the Grand Union back to Warwick and Kate Narrowboats. A
round trip of about 70 miles, 46 broad locks and 6 narrow locks
