Day 13 - Thursday December 28th - Middlewich to Kidsgrove 12 miles 6 furlongs, 31 locks, 8 hours 25 minutes Weather - Mizzle initially, sunshine later
Went for a curry in Middlewich yesterday evening, then met up with John & Gill Watson for a couple of pints in the Boar's Head. Back to theirs afterwards for a nightcap. Set off this morning at 8.15am, straight into Wardle lock. Turned right at the Junction and started the ascent to Kidsgrove. Everything against us initially, although after Thurlwood we started getting some locks in our favour. Passed Mountbatten & Jellicoe in the same spot as last week. No sign of life onboard. Stopped just below the top lock as 4.40pm. Will visit the Blue Bell later this evening for some well earned beer after supper has been prepared and eaten. Pork Stroganoff tonight.
