I took some former boaty friends ( still friends ex boaters) to see the junks. We have found out that the steel is covered with fibreglass hence the smooth shiny finish but the outside varnish is not wearing well, water has got under it and the varnish is peeling off. Rust is appearing on some of the stainless steel fittings. I will be interested to see what they look like in a years time. Probably still better than ours! Sue nb Nackered Navvy
