Don't think so.  I've never known the Limehouse Cut as badly overgrown on 
the towpth side as shown here.  I'd expect a canal in an Ian Ranking book to 
be in Scotland  -  almost certainly the Union Canal.  But that doesn't mean 
the publisher's photographer woud necessarily photograph the correcy canal.
