Day 18 - Tuesday January 2nd - Ansty to Braunston 19 miles 3 furlongs, 3 locks, 6 hours 15 minutes Weather - Fine initially, rain later
Set off from Ansty at 7.10am and moored at Tescos in Rugby at 10.05am. Spent an hour shopping before setting off again. Stopped for a much needed fill up at Clifton Cruisers (386 ltr at 50ppl). Through the three locks at Hillmorton and cruised on to Braunston, stopping at 2.55pm just after the bridge by the lane that leads up into town. Bought a couple of the excellent freshly baked bloomers from the shop by lock 1, before spending a pleasant half hour bleeding air from the fuel system on the genny. Had a look down the weedhatch and removed a rather badly distorted coathanger and miscellaneous other items. Up to the Plough for beer in the evening. Terry Streeter NB Arun - Braunston
