Hi,
As an American who travels back and forth to England A Lot and has
spent a Lot of Time on the cut don't bring a hair dryer for the boat.
They often do not work the way the manufacturer says they will and
you'll end up burning it out or blowing out the electrics on the
boat. Have done both...yes, I learned the hard way. If you REALLY
need one buy the cheapest one you can find in England. Also, do
bring a sharp paring knife - in your suitcase not carry on. Cooking
on the boat is fun and easy but if you prefer at the supermarkets you
can buy very, very nice preputtogether meals....not cheap but very
good. Bring plenty of money nothing is inexpensive in England......a
simple lunch out that at home would cost $15.00 will cost 30 UKP. Be
prepared and have a wonderful time. There is nothing like it in the
world. If you are bringing a laptop bring a cigar lighter connection
most hire boats have a place to plug it into. I also agree about the
First Mate Guides - well worth having.
Have a wonderful time.
