That reminds me of the classic TV comedy 'The Plank' written by Eric
Sykes
(I think he starred in the programme as well). I wouldn't mind seeing that
again!

There were actually three versions of The Plank all directed by and starring
Eric Sykes with the TV-only version being a short sketch broadcast in 1964
as "Sykes and a Plank". Hattie Jacques, of course, was the main 'assistant'.

The 1967 version stretched the sketch out to a 45 minute 'silent' film which
also starred Hattie Jacques, but added Tommy Cooper and Jimmy Edwards.

The 1979 version had these, but also included Bernard Cribbens, Joanna
Lumley, Arthur Lowe, Richard Briers and Charlie Drake.

Amazon, Play.com and most other DVD sellers will be happy to supply you with
a copy in exchange for a handful of government beer tokens.
