Back in the 1970s I remember they used to park the Robins on the off-side
near the (Glascote) locks. Later the orange sporty 3-wheeled ones (the last
built?) used to be there. I think there were 4-wheeled Kittens and the odd
Simitar too. Of course it might have been the workers car-park but, if it was,
someone had lots of workers who all drove the same make. I never did peek in
the factory windows though - in those days there seem to have been a lot less
rock-throwers (and broken windows) around.
I suppose the more rock throwers of today are all part of the government
idea of improving towpaths to give better access for the public. Just think -
every extra canal-side broken window proves the policy of social-inclusion is
working well!

Errr . . . are we mixing up taxis and tricycles here ? I'm not
perfectly sure but I thought there was a taxi factory in Glascote and a
fi-glass vehicle factory somewhere a bit nearer the A5 Watling Street
Possibly, but ISTRT I looked through a broken window while waiting for the
top lock at Glascote to fill some years ago and seeing Robin bodies hanging on
a production line. Or I may have been dreaming . . .
