Apathy re our political system and the hope of getting anything changed is 
eating into the
will of many people, and certainly the young, to get involved with politics 
and voting. You only have to look at the falling proportion of the 
population who bother to vote in general or local elections to
see proof of that.

So why not make Voting compulsory but allow the opportunity to tick a box 
which said

" I have performed my Statutory Duty but wish to signify my reluctance to 
vote for any party"

Or could civil disobedience be arranged on such a scale that everyone who 
isn't bothered went to their Poling Station and spoilt their paper. That's 
one way to get your vote counted.

They do appear to record spoilt papers but it would probably send a message 
to the Government that people couldn't read or didn't understand the 
question. Meaning more millions spent to find out why we don't vote 
properly.

The Number 10 petitions is a good idea but open to abuse.

Serious comments re SOW are mixed up in rather pointed calls for 
resignations of key Government Ministers.
