Roger commented Apathy re our political system and the hope of getting anything changed is eating into the will of many people, and certainly the young, to get involved with politics and voting. You only have to look at the falling proportion of the population who bother to vote in general or local elections to see proof of that.
So why not make Voting compulsory but allow the opportunity to tick a box which said " I have performed my Statutory Duty but wish to signify my reluctance to vote for any party" Or could civil disobedience be arranged on such a scale that everyone who isn't bothered went to their Poling Station and spoilt their paper. That's one way to get your vote counted. They do appear to record spoilt papers but it would probably send a message to the Government that people couldn't read or didn't understand the question. Meaning more millions spent to find out why we don't vote properly. The Number 10 petitions is a good idea but open to abuse. Serious comments re SOW are mixed up in rather pointed calls for resignations of key Government Ministers. Trevor
