ANPR Yes most petrol stations use it as a crime counter measure and its used by some car park people to enforce the two hour maximum stay. You also have the right to apply to the DVLA for the owners details if you have suffered drive off damage to your own property. Those little white vans above the major A roads with a camera array are also doing the same thing. Maybe they are already collecting data to convince us it is the right thing.
It did occur to me on a recent debate about displaying versus having a licence just how a discrete BW licence recognition camera might be an easy way for them not to have to employ gum shoes to walk the towpath! But then again this would only catch those moving. But surely those not moving are sitting ducks! Trevor
