The village of Audlem on the Shroppie is a popular place with passing boats
for its pubs and shops (including a chemists). The village also has a website
at www.audlem.org.
One of the items on the site is the result of a on-line village vote
concerning dogs using the canal towpath. The votes results show 52% were for
dogs on leads only with 47% against. This finding will be passed on by the
parish council to the local authority who issues dog control orders.
The site also mentions that another recent pole decided by just one vote
that the village should NOT become an alcohol exclusion zone (whatever that
is).
