Below is the e-mail I've just sent to ITV:-
Dear programme controller,
After many years of despair, I was very pleased to see that ITV London had
deigned to show "Waterworld" in common with several other ITV regions. I
alerted my canals-list chatroom to the fact that @ 19:30 on 27 February 2007,
London could sit down & watch this informative & entertaining programme without
having to rely on others recording, either by tape or computer trickery--you
get the picture.
Imagine my chagrin when last night, the great god
football pushed Waterworld off of the schedule. This isn't too surprising when
even "Coronation Street" gets pushed aside so that the spectacle of twenty two
grown men chasing a leather sphere full of air around a field can be enjoyed
[?] by the masses. I'm enough of a realist to know that "majority rules"
unfortunately. However, on inspecting the listing magazines for next week I
see that once again, Waterworld is nowhere to be seen--instead "Cops with
cameras" [originally scheduled for 27 February, right after Waterworld!]
Just what is going on? I'm assured that there are ten
programmes of Waterworld in one series. Am I to expect "Understanding Ceramics"
or some such the following week?
Please reinstate the rest of Waterworld to a waiting London & , as Kenneth
Williams was liable to say, "Stop mucking about!"
Yours sincerely,
B.A. Holland Esq.
I hope it will have *some* effect!
Barry
