With Earnest's move to Ireland and the associated tons of spares and stuff
that is travelling with it nearly sorted, I have turned my attentions to
Mini Me and started a fair bit of work. The owner has of course concentrated
on "important" things...like new curtains and interior decor!
I have had the two leaky windows out and resealed them with clear silicone,
painted roof and rear rails (steel) as well as stripping and revarnishing
the rail cappings and roof handrails.
I still have the brakes and bearings to service and adjust.
Linda has just appled to go to the Moria Festival (13-13 May), leave boat
and trailer up there, for two weeks, then go onto National Trail Boat
Feastival on the Grantham (16-28 May)....once the boat is "moving" we may do
something on the way back. If the boat moves about and is not permanantly on
our drive, we may get away with leaving in on our drive for the in
termediate time.
Linda is thinking of applying for the "bottom" award.....citing the blocked
rear deck drain hole, causing us to "sink" the boat....on the M4 (torrential
rain when we recovered it from Bristol. )This was due to leaving the tow
rope thingy still through it and the rear well filling with water and
overflowing the rear doorstep!) Fortunately Beaver's have bilges!
