Hi All,
I'm in Paddington Basin currently. A place I've regularly moored & always
championed as being safe & sound, what with cctv & security guards constantly
patrolling. Last night in between Episodes of Corry & Tracy's trial, I felt
someone step on the boat. Rushing out the front doors 3 yobs around 16-18 were
walking past the boat, one holds his hand up & apologises,
Why did you get on my boat?
I didn't, I only stepped on it!
Why?
I didn't realise there was anyone living on it!
But why step on at all? [Voice rising]
Calm down, calm down.
At this point a hitherto silent second yob referred to me as an effing c***
to the apologiser.
When I challenged no 2 & called him something similar he said "I don't want
to hit you you're an old man! Then more worryingly, I'll remember this boat!
Now, it hurts to be seen as an old man [I'm 58] but even if I
was Arnold Scwarzenegger I wouldn't be able get out of the boat fast enough to
prevent my windows being kicked in or similar if they came back later, so we
moved over to the St. Mary's Hospital side & of course nothing untoward
happened. It spoilt what has been up to now a very pleasant 3 weeks away.
Has anyone else suffered at this site?
