Yes, it is computer-generated.
provides the
framework, the main part of the page. tells the web
page to fetch an article with that reference number from the database
and display it in the space reserved for it. If no article exists with
the reference number, nothing gets displays in the space.

We're into semantics here. When I said it wasn't computer-generated I meant
that one of the 'computer-generated' announcements [such as 'error 404' or the
like] didn't appear on, & take up the whole screen, but rather I got through to
the Herts site &, to the great unwashed, the 'newspaper front page' appeared to
deny the story's existence!
Remember, you're talking to someone who doesn't live, eat & breathe computers
& doesn't necessarily have all the right words for the right circumstances :-))
